@umognog, easiest way to fit this feature is retrofit Insignia's seats with memory. They have options to auto-adjust mirrors to driver (1 of 2 position) or last position assigned to your key.

Yeah it is possible to do that .
Look at attached photo.
   

1 - auto-adjust (move down) mirror when reverse gear put in.
2 - fold mirrors by remote control

At the moment i have Insignia's seats fitted into my car. I am working at retrofit Insignia's mirror motors in Astra's rearview mirrors. They are compatible but I need to add 4 wires to mirror positioning circuit.
