Does anyone know if I have to have the resistors with the leds or can I just put an led bulb straight in? On the Astra gtc?

Hi guys,

Jumping into this thread so i don't open another for the same question. I have a '13 Astra J OPC, and i fitted LEDs on plate license lights, but i get bulb check error. Tried a number of LEDs for which the sellers advertised as CANBUS but they still throw error. I got a electronic tester and measured 100 ohms on one set of LEDs (without power to them), and 175 ohms for another set (with more LEDs and lens at the top).

Any idea how to get them working or what resistance should i have for the LEDs ? Cannot find a replacement set with full casing and i really don't want to use a big resistor which will get hot. As per my calculations, at 5W , the resistance of the circuit when powered should be around 30 ohms with a normal bulb. (501 halogen), which is a lot less than my LEDs with 100 and 175 ohms without power.
