I would do a water test. If u have a hose leave it on a slow run on your windscreen for 5 - 10mins and then move onto the door edge and see if any water collects. If the inside of your windscreen froze it could be that the ice melted and caused water but again if your saying "puddles" it may not nlbe that as I would have thought it would of melted that much.
You may need to keep a journal. That notes the weather and what your seeing in regards to water, that will help u to figure out when it happens etc. Just keep it in your car
