Was looking to just get some of the SMD LED bulbs instead of the fancy, very bright ones used in the tutorial but just wondering why a load resistor is needed?

Nvm, think I know why now. Would flicker from what I can tell if it didn't have the load resistor in place. May have to look into getting some of these to complete my led conversion
