I was recommended by a mechanic/garage owner to an oil addictive called Activ8. There is a demo video on Youtube here, so make your own mind up:

I added it a few years ago to my Astra H I had. I don't remember it making a vast difference to the 5% fuel saving they claim to make but I felt better knowing it was sloshing about the engine. For cars up to 1800cc you need a 125ml bottle which is about £21.95 from Ebay.
