dash cam as a reversing camera

a guy in halfrauds said that if you get a high enough spec dash cam for boot you can get it to relay to the cars screen (if fitted lol) when in reverse, does that sound right, 

its a shame you cant get a reversing numberplate lamp that is also a boot dash cam

Doubt it as the screen wouldn't know how to read info from the camera as it has its own wiring and own connectors etc. I mean maybe I'm wrong and maybe there is some botched way of doing it but I doubt it

no not a chance it would work on the factory screen
but you can but you would need the multimedia interface box for reverse camera
