Key problem on Astra.
#1
My key on a 2011 Astra has broken. The blade silver part that rotates and holds the blade in place has broken.
Is there a way to open the key up to replace this part?

If the key opened it wont go back together best thing to do would be a new case off eBay mate.

the cheap cases of ebay are naff the case won't fit the blade
and also when you take the new case apart it also won't go back together
the only way is to replace the key with a new one and get the dealers to reprogram it in
i got a price of £87.50 for a new key cut and programed from lookers
but ask for discount

That's a good price, Evans halshaw wanted £157 from me (until I took out the service plan and they gave me it free lol)

Thanks.
The key I have, the metal parts that holds the blade in is broken and the blade no longer stays. I've only had the car a month (bought used) but the company are not interested.
Can they not be put back together after opening now? That's a nice little earner for Vauxhall.
Could I buy a genuine one off ebay (some for £10, but I've asked the seller for the part number twice and had no reply) and get it programmed for my car?

You can't program a used key to a new car.
