Lane departure retrofit?
#1
Hi mates,

I own a 2013 Astra OPC (VXR) which doesn't have many options but the other day i removed the front panel and radio so i can test the new Android 10 navi system.

During removal, i found a grey plug identical with the one that connects to ESP button and ECO button, but inserted into the right side of the panel where i only have blank buttons .
Here, on a fully equipped car we should have the lane departure button on the big button and TPMS button on the smaller button (same size as ESP button).

Didn't find much in TIS v32 because Astra J model ends at 2012 there, but my car also has high beam assist and it's equipped with a camera on the windshield.

Given that the plug is already there, would there be any possibility to retrofit this ?

I checked for TPMS and i have the plugs in my rear fuse panel, this will be fairly easy to retrofit, could be that the plug is only for TPMS button on the dashboard ?

Thanks

good luck but why would you want that feature? ive had it on a couple of cars and ended up always switching it off. its so annoying.

I am not eager for lane departure, i just wanted to see if someone knows if that plug is for both parking sensors cabling (since i have the pins in the back fuse module) or also the lane departure system. Most probably for lane departure the car needs some front / back/side sensors along with front camera to "see" if you get out of the lane . Since i am living in Romania and 90% of the roads are poorly marked that makes a useless feature but at least to know if parking sensors would be easier to retrofit , lol

Lane defeature can be done as I've done it.

However it's a different camera the HBA light sensor.

There is a thread on here all about it.
