Not as far as I know.

A tuning box is but this just increases throttle response.

nope they fit all astra J and H engine types
and the size of the engine has no effect on the box
one box for all

Thanks guys, he is letting me have it for £70, if it increses my insurance loads I will be selling it on after I have had a play with it!

you will be fine mate there is no need to tell them you have it
it just plugs in and can be removed in seconds if needed
they also would not have a clue what it was and there is no way
to tell it has ever been fitted

Thanks mate, £17 to put it on my insurance so I will add it on as I know that they will do anything to not pay out! Great spot on Ebay btw! Hopefully a leather interior will come up at some point!!

I have had a go with them all. I saw a video where someone installed one and he held is foot on 2000 RPM and as he went through the different settings the RPM changes without changing the throttle position.

Is that correct?

The book says not to change settings while using the accelerator or cruise control. TBH I didn't think it made a difference until I turned it off after a week then you notice it.

i have the old one that is only Manuel adjustable
but i find when you find the setting you like
you tend to just keep it there anyway

but yes that is how it works
sport plus two is the most favored

Ok, I will try it for a week as you suggested and then try it without.
