Hi Rusty,
I worked on my cable loom and managed to clean it from the complete interioir loom (the one I picked up on a crashed GTC), thanks to the schemes here. Most of the wire's colors are different for a GTC but it was helpfull regarding pin's numbers on connectors.
Here is now an important information for those who want to make the Infinity mod, I clearly see that the red power supply wire, FL and RL
speaker's wires pass under the seats, where my seller cut them thinking there was no audio wires at this place
I have to extend them.
To explain with the drawing :
- All 8 wires from audio source go to the rear end amplificator (+ 2 shield protection, 1 common yellow/green and 1 remote)
- Then 10 wires from the amp (the 2 wires for central way are now independent) return directly to each
speaker.
- Nbr 1 is RearRight you have to remove pins 3 and 4 to the door connector to put yours from Infinity loom. For GTC there is no door connector it's directly the
speaker connector, easy.
- Nbr 2 is FrontRight and you have to remove the pins 4 and 5 to the door connector and put pins from Infinity loom.
- Nbr 3 is RearLeft you have to remove pins 3 and 4 to the door connector to put yours from Infinity loom. For GTC there is no door connector it's directly the
speaker connector, easy.
- Nbr 4 is FrontLeft and you have to remove the pins 4 and 5 to the door connector and put pins from Infinity loom.
Splits for tweeters are made on FR and FL wires in the area between Nbr 1 and Nbr 5 (under retractable sheath)
- Nbr 5 is a mid way connector that brings the 8 audio wires (+ shields and so on...) from the source to the amp and also bring back the parallel wires for FR tweeter, Central way, FL tweeter.
On the radio (source) connector side, you will have to remove all the 8 audio pins + shields + remote and put pins from the Infinity loom. The pins are easy to remove : just take off the white part and use a small flat screwdriver to free the pins.
I hope the explanations are not too complicated to understand. I will update when I discover how it's made on the car and how to re-use the wires/pins/connectors already in there ;-)
But I think I'll be blocked at some point because... I don't have a MDI, how can I do to reprog the radio from the crashed GTC ?
