Let's get the forum buzzing again... (March 25, 2022)x
Well gents i have just found this on ebay. Now on my phone cant copy link from the ebay app, but tale a look at this. Item number below go to ebay.co.uk and search that number
The Silvertech have a Mirrored Finish to the Bulb so they Do not look Orange
in the Unit for the Indicators and Fogs at the front.
Here are the Silvertech Bulbs
They are made by Phillips and are very good
there an Extract match for the Original
but much Better Looking with the Mirrored Finish
here is the old Orange Bulb and the Silvertec Side by Side
so you can see the Difference.
Here are a Few Pictures of the Original Orange Bulb
in the Unit you can see how Orange they look.
And Here are the Silvertechs
they look so much Better in the Unit
they do not have an Orange Tint at all.
Absolutely a top Product here Does Exactly what is says it does
Remove the Orange Tint from the Light Unit
they look so much Better i am Really Happy with them
they are Error Free also
and they are Nice and Bright.
To fit the Bulbs on the Pre Face Lift Astra j is some what Tricky
you can get your Hand up to the Connector and get the Bulb out and Back in
but it is very, very, Tight
but it is Possible but some what Tricky.
To show you How the Clips etc comes off and Goes back on
on the Pre Face Lift i took the Front Bumper off
to get some better Pictures.
STEP ONE.......
Remove the white Connector
And Press the Tab on the Top of the Connector
and Pull it out.
STEP TWO.......
Push down on the Squire Clip on the Right Hand Side
and Pull the Clip away.
STEP THREE.........
Simply pull out the Bulb
Note it only Goes back in One way
And Refit in Reverse.
The Face Lift is much Easier to get Access to the Bulbs
so you will not have much of a Problem at all
if you have the Newer fog units.
Has anyone fitted a splitter to a facelift 5-door? I was considering a Steinmetz front splitter but they advise the one on their website doesn't fit the facelift model but they do have one in development....anyone any photos of options available???
got a problem with misting up windows
post your problems here
the most common cures of this is not knowing you have the aircon on by stealth
pressing the front demist button on to clear the front windscreen
will send more air to the front windscreen but it will also turn the aircon on
even thou the aircon button will not be lit up
so when you turn the heater back to full heat the heater matrix will be freezing cold
and as it heats back up you may get a misting problem with the car
this will get you stuck in a cycle of turning the front demist back on
and turning the heat back up so the misting will never go away
also if you leave the heater setting to just the up position
again the aircon will be on by stealth and the light will not be lit up
so you will not be aware that the air con is on
so turning the heater to full heat will again curse misting in the car
to cure this leave the heater settings in up and front
or have all 3 settings on
but never up on its own for long periods of time
to get the front windscreen to demist quicker
close all 4 air vents and put the heater setting in up and forward
and turn the heater setting to max
it will work just as well as front demist
other issues may be due to a damp pollen fillter
so make sure you change that every year to keep
it nice and clean
also water in the footwell and rear boot are ones to watch for also..
so any misting problems post your problems on here.
there were early reported problems on the early model astra j
with water getting in to the front footwell
water would make its way along the wiper arms
and drip in to the pollen filter
this was fixed by placing a zip tie
on the wiper arm to divert the flow of water
so if you have had any problems with water in the front foot well post it here
also water in the rear boot problems
post your problems here..
