Hi all,

Picked up my MY12 J CDTI 165 on Friday, already been on a 300 mile round trip and seriously impressed with it! Changed from a Civic Type R due to it financially crippling me because I use it for work as well, and had a H 1.8 before that, so I had no hesitation returning to a Vauxhall!

No plans to modify it really, don't have the time or the funds, but little things here and there might still happen!

Andy

  Armor All Shield
Posted by: grahamfromoldham - 26:th-Jan-2015, 00:27:24 - Forum: Detailing - No Replies

I don't know who else has tried Armor All Shield 'Even better than a wax' but forget Sonax that has been beading water for a month or so, this product has beaded on my car for almost three months. It says it will stay active for up to ten washes and sure enough I can vouch for it.
I found it on the Auto Express website after they did wax and polish reviews and this one won in 2013:
http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/accessories...group-test

It retails for around £10 on Ebay or Amazon for 500ml and I have managed to do my Astra about 3 times with it plus my dads Peugeot 107. I know everyone has their favourite lotions and potions but I can't recommend this one enough for a deep shine that lasts and beads for weeks and weeks.

  Updated Style Look
Posted by: Lewis6317 - 25:th-Jan-2015, 12:59:02 - Forum: Site updates - Replies (12)

Hey everybody,

If you have been reverted back to the basic theme Blue and White, I'm sorry but here is why.

Rusty2009 and myself have been busy this morning bringing a new updated theme style, which has various different colours
Red, Orange, Blue, Green and Pink.

Each theme now has a colour coded banner, this I'm still in the process of tweaking.

To change the theme simply go to the top right, Settings > On the left go under My Settings Click General Settings > Scroll all the way down and you will see Miscellaneous Options under that Forum Skin.

Please feel free to comment on what you think of the new themes.

Thank You

New LED DRL's showing numerous faults
Posted by: grahamfromoldham - 24:th-Jan-2015, 16:28:40 - Forum: Astra-J/GTC - Replies (31)

I have fitted (as per Tucpal's 'How to LED DRL error free' guide) but I am having a headache with faults that have thrown up. I have installed the resistors, wiring and Scotchlok clips and LED bulbs correctly. Firstly, the left DRL will light intermittlently but it will light on the sidelight OK.

And now the following faults show intermittently:

Check left dipped beam lamp
Check right dipped beam lamp

Check left Daylight running lamp
Check right Daylight running lamp

When the lights are switched to auto, sidelights and DRL's light OK when its dark. When it is light outside, DRL's do not light in auto mode.

(When I turn off the automatic lights feature, the DRL's stay off. I never noticed this with the PIAA bulbs as I thought the DRL's stayed lit no matter what)

ANY help appreciated as always, Graham
