Anybody got any experience with this type of kit
Posted by: bhalay207 - 16:th-Sep-2015, 17:55:02 - Forum: Astra-J/GTC - Replies (11)

I want an xp kit on my J and have come across the kit below on fleabay.

Has anybody got any experience of this kit regardless of model? It's more the quality of the material I'm questioning. I'm going to assume it's not a patch on what Vauxhall would provide.

  My mpg
Posted by: richje100 - 14:th-Sep-2015, 20:41:20 - Forum: Astra-J/GTC - Replies (10)

Finally started driving my 1.7cdti with a lighter foot.
Massive difference in fuel.
176 miles off 18ltrs gave me 45mpg
Recently using a heavy foot been getting 35-38
Been using the shift indicator that pops up to change up and tried keeping revs at 2k or less and spent only £20 in a week using it daily

What's others getting?

  Pre-facelift front grille

  Clips/Screws in boot area.

So today I eventually got round to taking off most of the side in the boot area to move the buzzer for my parking sensors. The guy who fitted them thought it would be good to stick it on the outside by the rear window on the nearside... apart from the fact you could see it and it ruined the nice look of the interior it was deafening my son when I reversed!

Anyway that's resolved and now resides tucked inside with the wiring etc. on the nearside.

But when I took everything out I found these in the boot well.

The guy removed trim/bumper when he fitted them... has he just not managed to figure out where these go/been lazy?

It bugs me so much to know they should probably be somewhere!

Any ideas?

Also.. the only thing that was flagged up in my service was the inflation kit was missing... I have this under the boot floor, is this not an OEM kit?

Cheers

Astra J 1.7 engine chirping and pressure
Posted by: Jasoncourt - 9:th-Sep-2015, 16:54:57 - Forum: Astra-J/GTC Common Problems - Replies (13)

Astra J 1.7CDTi exclusiv 2010

So I have been letting my issue develop and I still don't hav a clue what the causes are.

No:1, chirping/squeal from engine, does it on idle and now does it when Reving the engine, I'm pretty sure it's not the aux belt because this sounds more at the back of the engine. Once cured by replacing fuel filter but hasn't worked this time.

No:2, engine breathing really hard for no reason what's so ever, has anyone had this problem before? Other minor things that could be affected by it, engine mpg is very low, doesn't idle very well and sometimes starts hunting, the excessive pressure puts oil into my intake and perishes my turbo seals as to case a minor oil leaks/oil leaks out of intake/turbo pipes

If anyone could advise then that would be awesome, not had much luck since I've had this car from nearly new.

  Advice - servicing
Posted by: bhalay207 - 6:th-Sep-2015, 09:39:12 - Forum: Astra-J/GTC - Replies (30)

Just a quick one.

I've got 43600 showing on the car and my oil display is saying 47%.
Looking through the service book it's been serviced every 10k miles and was last done when I picked it up in March at 33k.

Should I get it serviced now or wait? The service book says 20k miles are a year whichever is first.
