Astra GTC Horn issue |

Hi Everyone
Sorry if this is posted in the wrong folder but I could really do with some advice about the horn on my 2016 GTC. Over the winter it started to work intermittently and, as it is getting worse (sometimes it works but mostly not) with an upcoming MOT in November I have decided to replace it. I have managed to get a replacement horn unit from ebay complete with mounting bracket. I have a copy of the GTC manual which seems to indicate that I need to remove the front bumper unit to get to the horn assembly. Has anyone ever replaced the horn on a GTC and if so, is there a faster way of getting to the horn or do I have to remove the entire front bumper assembly ? I'm good at DIY and have a set of ramps but, if you think this really is a job for a garage, I'm happy to do that. Just need some friendly steer.
Any help / advice would be gratefully received ?
Many thanks in advance
Ed

Hi,
I have a insignia 2011 with cd 400 radio, im looking at upgrading it to a nav 600/800 or similar.
from what ive read (correct me if im wrong) but you need a matching screen, head unit and front panel as well as wiring loom for it, wiring loom needs connecting up and the radio coded to the car, is that right?
and optional extras are like the center console controller, DAB, Bluetooth and reverse parking camera modules, but these can be added to the system and dropped in at later date if wiring is put in?
is that right or am i completely off track?
rather have a factory fitted type system rather then a aftermarket and could do with knowing what to look for etc?
Thanks ect

GTC DRL's on Canbus? and Best White LEDs? |

Hi,
I dont have a great understanding of cars but own an Astra GTC 1.4T 2013 and want to change my DRL's to white bulbs as I have purchased white headlight bulbs. Having looked over the forum at some very detailed threads regarding bulbs it has left me quite confused.
I have read on some that the GTC has a system called Canbus and that DRL's are on this system which could cause error codes but then on other threads that the GTC DRL's arent on this system. I was wondering if anyone could clarify for me in regards to whether these bulbs are on the system or not.
Secondly, I would like to place LED white bulbs as my DRL's to remove the horrible yellow/white colour. Having seen the threads I believe that my bulb is W21/5w (580). I was wondering what the best white LEDs that are out there which would fit and where I can get them.
Kind regards,
Alex

Centre dash speaker extremly quiet, |

Hi guys , hope we all well
I have recently upgraded my whole audio system in my GTC
Using all Vibes speakers - and seperate vibe amp for speakers (Vibe Powerbox 65.4M) + sub and amp in my boot ,
The seperate speakers amp plugs in to audio harness i used Connects 2 Vauxhall ISO T-Harness Adaptor CT10VX05
I have also decided to install the centre dash speaker ( i follow Rusty tutorial)
And for some reason that centre dash speaker its extremly quiet , i didnt expect much from it but its like you can barely here anything from it when its seats on the dash you cant hear nothing from it but im sure it does work as i even took it outside lock windows and i could hear it working but really quiet,
I did some reaserch on the internet and someone said them harnesses are not designed for 7 speakers,
And that could be the possible reason why the speaker its so quiet as it doesent get amplified as the rest of the speakers??
Could this be possible ?
Any one have any diagram or anything for the iso harness as i was thinking of possibly connecting the speaker directly to the front or rear speakers channel on the iso to make it work as it should ?
Thanks in advance.

Auxiliary Belt failure - cam belt change question |

Hi all, I bought an Astra 2.0 CDTI recently and they fitted a new cambelt and waterpump as part of the sale. Just 2 weeks after getting the car the auxiliary belt shredded and snapped on the M11 and subsequently the brakes, power steering and just about every other light came on on the dash before the battery lost charge and it died. The garage I bought it from took the car back and put a new aux belt and battery in under warranty. They said the reason the belt snapped was due to a lose pulley but they went no where near that when they changed the cam belt so it wasn't their fault. Is that correct? I'd have thought the aux belt needs removing to do a cam belt change? Also cause the whole left hand side of the engine bay is covered in shredded belt dust, Im worried about whether the cam belt needs changing again, but they reckon not. Any advice welcome.
Oh also aside from all that the car has broken again and I have the service vehicle soon message. Done an opcom code read and coming back as glow plug pressure sensor cylinder 1. I'm assuming this is unrelated but unlucky. They're refusing the do that under warranty which is annoying. So far this car hasn't been the best purchase!
