Show us your car in the Chris Knott virtual #showandshine
Hi,

Share a pic of your car on one of our social media pages and you could win a great prize.

As a specialist car insurance broker, Chris Knott Insurance works with many of the UK's car clubs, forums and enthusiast groups, insuring both classic cars and modern/modified vehicles. However, we don't often get to see the lovely cars that are so important to you and the car community.

You can change all that and maybe win a prize in the process...

This Summer we're inviting you to post a

The new model astra: my time with astra has ended
Being in the market for another car, I read with interest that PSA has announced an engine & tech refresh to the Astra.

I love my J, it's an amazing workhorse.

So I was very, very disappointed to read the engine options from PSA:

Petrol - 1.2 & 1.4, all 3 cylinder options
Diesel: 1.5 unspecified cylinders.

Well. I was looking at a petrol, as it's a city short journey runner, but I despise the 3 cylinder. Had one before and never, ever again! Bugger that.

Didn't think I would say this, but w

Car Insurance - what to check as well as the price
You could be missing out if you ignore the specialist brokers (especially if your car or situation is non-standard).

You might think that you're going to get your best deal on a price comparison website but actually at Chris Knott we're just as likely to beat an online price as any other.

Different deals exist for brokers that mean we can easily compete in the market.

Price is very important and we know that's normally the buying trigger but have you also considered what service you wil

A couple of useful Apps for the J
I have found a couple of useful apps for Android that work wel for the Astra J (I am not the developer and don't know the developer).
OPL DTC Reader works well with an ELM Bluetooth OBDII reader and can read Vauxhall/ Opel specific errors. My normal OBDII reader would not read my Glowplug error on my 2.0 CDTi but this app can and was able to reset the fault code.

The same developer also made OPL DPF Monitor lite that can see how full the particulate filter is and will show if it is doinf a r

The Wife's 1.7cdti Mokka
[align=center]So I bought the wife a Mokka at last.

It is 2013 EXCLUSIV 1.7cdti with AFL.

There was an issue with the AFL lights doing a constant start up which was resolved with a new headlight unit.

The Mrs wanted me to give it the full VXOCElectrabizz treatment.

So I started with an LED conversion & LED interior bulb upgrades along with adding footwell lighting.

Which Is The Best Way To Add Multiple Photos?
As the title says really. Photos on my phone are to big to upload and photbucket isn't free any more? How do other people resize images on a phone or use another image sharing site?
Thanks

New to the forum :)
Hello,

My name is Callum, I have recently purchased a 2014 Astra J 1.6CDTI Ecoflex Tech Line because my old Volvo V40 D2 1.6 headgasket decided to blow :(

I've got a few things I'd like doing to it, a little work in progress but due to being an Arable farmer and contractor, not really got much time at the moment due to harvest coming up etc.

My first plans for the car is to install ambient light around the gear stick and door panels, I then want to retrofit a Bluetooth module to my Na

Astra J. Can a tyre valve be replaced without replacing the TPMS?
I have an Astra J hatchback, 2015 reg, I think it is “pre facelift” but not sure.
It has slow punctures on both off side wheels

My tyre garage (Formula 1 Autos) told me that air is leaking from between the valve body and the alloy wheel seat.
They say that if I can get hold of replacement valves they will replace them. They say that this will not involve disturbing the TPMS.

Are they correct?
Is the TPMS separate from the valve on this car? All I can find are combined TPMS and valve
