Additional AUX socket
#1
Hi All,

Does anyone know if it's possible to install an extra AUX socket in the car? I'd like to have one in the glove box so I can connected up a Bluetooth dongle in there and have my phone auto connect to it like suggested in another thread.

Cheers

I don't see why you couldn't wire one in using your existing wiring.

Basically crimp onto the wire and run the secondary one to the glovebox

Didn't know if it would be that easy! If so I'll do it will be like having built in Bluetooth audio streaming then and no messy wires in the centre console

Anyone know if I'd be able to just whip the aux plug off this and then splice into the existing aux cable? Not sure if it would need grounding or anything like that... Not well up on electrical stuff!

Well I don't see why you couldn't as it would run online with the original. Only thing is you wouldn't be able to use the other one at the same time as they would conflict.

To make like easier I would get a aux socket with abit of wiring from a scrapper. That way all the cabling would be the same colour etc.

Yeah good idea! I did try and find one but could only find the socket itself with no wiring!

Fingers crossed it is as easy as that anyway! Would be a huge bonus to get this working the way I described

I have the plug that goes on the aux socket somewhere (I'll dig it)

Then just tap to the Factory aux socket and it should work.
