Astra GTC service vehicle soon

Hi, 
I've recently purchased a 2013 1.6 astra GTC.
It's done 25000 miles with full service history. The SERVICE VEHICLE SOON message as popped up a few times but disappears after a 30 seconds. I took it back to the dealer. They reset the service light telling me it was just a glitche the gtc is known for. There's been np error codes stored either. I just wondered if any other owners have had same or simular issues with the service light??

Just to add the vehicle drives as it should with no noticeable problems. And the service vehicle soon message can also be cleared manually by pressing the RESET button. Just annoying to not know why this keeps happening. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Probably just a glitch which was reset by the dealer but no doubt you will get the "service vehicle soon" within the next 12 months or 20000 miles whichever one comes first for the reminder of the annual service requirements.

Thanks for the reply. Buy since they reset it on Friday the SERVICE VEHICLE SOON as come on again but gone off again by itself.  Did it twice today. Just find it strange.

I took it back to the dealer and he told me no fault codes were stored. I might take it to my own garage and ask them to check it. It's annoying but doesn't seem to effect the car in any way. I had a deisel insignia before this and when SERVICE VEHICLE SOON came up on that it went into limp mode. First one was because of weak battery and second time because of dpf. I couldn't reset this without code reader. But on the GTC i can remove the message by pressing RESET button or wait 30 seconds and it removes itself.

The "service vehicle soon" message is a misleading one. It bears no resemblance to having the vehicle serviced. It is a fault warning message.

IIRC, the service reminder message is "change oil soon" or something like that.

I had this on my GTC 1.6T and it turned out to be the thermostat. Service vehicle soon actually means there's something wrong somewhere!

Turned put to be faulty thermostat housing. Car now fixed and no more annoying messages

If the engine cooling fan comes on full blast all the time, then, for me also, it is the thermostat. I bought a cheap one that lasted 5 months ... Then I bought a £48 one. 2011 Astra J.
