Deal i need to sort out a day where hes free and I can take the car and when your free. I'll see him later mate see what he says. Thanks so much.

Okay after messing around for like an hour and half I've finally managed to get the power and video cables pulled through from the camera outside of the car and into the boot itself via the rubber grommet! I then wired up the wireless transmitter and secured it to the side of the bit under the boot floor where the spare tyre would go:

Now I just need to wire the power and earth to the relevant location in the left hand side compartment in the boot Smile doing that when the head unit arrives though

but you are getting there i am doing a reverse camera myself soon too

Yeah I used double sided 3M pads @tucpal...same ones I used for the reg plate so they're super strong.

Ooooo nice! Will it work with factory setup or you going official? I am indeed...just need that bloody head unit now!!!!! Hahaha

good to get a head start
i will be using an aftermarket box that taps into the factory nav600
and will make it a reverse camera or play a dvd.

Yeah I always try too as this reverse camera business would have been an extra hour or so on the head unit install day!

Ahhhh that's brill then! Anything that doesn't involve faffing with VCI codes etc. Is a bonus eh!

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

It doesn't need a data plan mate for all the basic stuff to work... You can ever tether your phone to it and have it use your phones data but I don't want that as my phone battery is bad enough as it is haha.

Yep navi will work without data it comes with maps etc on a card I believe which provides it with offline navi... I'll confirm obviously when it arrives

Sure! I use android myself and a few apps like spotify, audible, waze, youtube etc. i stream to my cars speakers...so I'll be getting all those apps on the unit itself to save me having to have my phone sat there displaying stuff and streaming audio.

I'll browse for other car related stuff and make a list of cool or useful apps Smile

yes, the VCI code and programming needed.
I have only one remark, in the night I would prefer the camera switch to b/w mode. The color picture in the night is not so nice at the day light. Anyway I like the camera because I don't like the bumper with park sensors.

Those bulbs arrived for the rear plate to replace my yellow halogens...and as @tucpal said...they give errors haha. Oh well, my other ones with the resistor on the wire did too so I'm in the same position but with a camera now in the reg plate bulb holder so I'm happy Smile. Will get the resistor wire thing eventually when I cba!

@tucpal I have a question for ya. I'm looking to splice into some of the wires in the connector block which us under the rubber boot in the frame of the rear door to get power and ground to my led strips. Any idea which wires are safe and best to splice into for this? I want them to come on like the front door pocket ones do.

Defo! You don't even need two but as I'd already created the hole for the second one i may aswell do both .

All you need to do is slightly widen the current hole and make it a few cms longer too. Can be done with a Stanley knife as the boot lining is only like fabric and some soft plastic stuff so knife cuts through like butter
