What's the speed rating for these?

I'm more concerned with what the insurance company would say if you changed tyre size. Currently , the cost of a 225x50x17 is almost the same price as 2 225x45x17 tyres. .

I just fitted to new rear tyres . .

I had two Michelen's on the back , one had a cut on the side wall and the other had a nail in it and was down to 2.5 mm of tread (no shame to it , over 45k on it ). .

I went for two Hankook's , 235x45x17 , also got the two on the front rebalance (l was getting vibration in the steering in certain conditions) , total cost £198. .

these pcd numbers does that mean not all astra j wheels will fit eachother, some being 105 but most being 115?

i want a 'proper' spare wheel not the daft little space saver thats in the boot atm
Reply

Depends on engine mate. You will not fit a full size spare in the well in the boot (I tried).

Best thing to do is have the space saver in boot and the full size at home ready.

i went to the opel dealer and asked for winter tyres. is it true that the rims of the 1.6 and the diesels wont fit on my car? i'm pretty sure they won't make different wheels for every engine.
also he gave me a price for steel wheels but they are 16 inch, i thought 16's didn't fit the gtc?

also went tho the local tyres and wheel dealer. gave me a price of 960€ for 17 inch alloys with tyres, that seems reasonable

18, 19, & 20" from the dealers for the GTC.

You could always get a set of 16, 17" from the 5 door the list in the post will give you the info mate.

The stud pattern is same between the GTC and the 5 door's that use the 115PCD. I had the spare from my J that I was going to use on the VXR but I couldn't get it over the rear brake's so gave up but other than that it would have bolted straight on.

so does that mean vxr wheels will fit a 1.7cdti?, for stud pattern and center bore size etc?

Hi Guys,

sorry if this has been asked before, I did a search and this particular question did not come up, is there much difference in handling, gear ratio etc if I change from a 245/40/20 to a 245/35/20 tyre? Reson I ask is that there is a huge difference in price with the former, to say the least!

Got a puncture this morning and realised my next purchase for the car will be a spare wheel so I don't have to faff about with a "repair kit" that doesn't even work.  My car is a 5 door hatch (2.0 CDTI) so as per the table above should have a 16 inch space saver.  Does anyone know though if a 17 inch space saver from the GTC would fit in the wheel well or will that be too big?

I've bought 20" alloys with 245 35 r20 tyres. I'm putting them on a gtc that's been lowered by 30mm. Will there be a clearance issue. I know it's an old post but need advice.
