Hahha oh dear, let's hope this is a quick turnaround for your Astra mate. That'd be my worst fear, ending up with a shite courtesy car.

Got a quote from Adrian flux today and was going to work out more expensive than my Hastings direct insurance. Insurance irritates me so much when you see people getting it 300 pound cheaper for the same car etc etc. wouldn't even allow me to drive other cars and to do so it would cost 100 pound extra!! Shocked and pee'd off, may try Chris knott to see if any better!

And i can not complain at all it looks better than before the crash
front wing, front door, and rear door and side skirt all painted spot on and the front wing was replaced
the front alloy has also been repainted it is a shade darker than the others but not bothered at all about that
and a new wheel arch liner also put on and the car came back fully valeted in and out
so very happy all done with in 6 days of collection by uk assistance
hire car will go back today thank god ha ha

So now back to the modding..ha...

The first job is to get my VXR indicators back on
i am not going to put the hako,s back on the car i have decided it looks better without them now.
i have a few things to do by the summer but you will have to see what happens next..

I paid £50 for a genuine VX timing belt kit for my 2.0CDTI and I'm watching another kit for £90 on eBay.

I know VX want £130+.

So have a look on eBay.

OK i have bit the bullet and finally got around to sorting out this fake tail pipe issue at long last
so today my new back box and twin tail pipe has arrived
i will have a bit of work to do tomorrow if the weather holds up
i did not go for stainless as this will last me just fine
it came from Germany and cost £200 posted you can pick your tail pipe
and the fitting kit and paste were also included so not bad at all
i will have to reduce the diameter to fit but i have that here also
so already to go ahead and get this sorted out at last

Reply
all done fitted the back box and tailpipe today
i also color coded the parking sensors
and they finally match the car now
over all very happy just what i was looking for to finish it off.

this may well be my final mod at last
just services and maintenance from now on

Looks really nice. One day im hoping to get a vx line kit for mine!

I agree with Lewis on the repeater front. I also like the design of the J's repeaters aswell as the fact I have smoked ones, I think I'd struggle to part with them.

i had a new timing belt put on the car today
but OMG some stupid cow has hit the car again
outside the garage they parked it outside very near a corner
and a women driver again turned in on it and caught the rear bumper
I AM PROPER PPPPPEEEEDDDDD OFF NOW

asked her to settle it outside of the insurance and she will not
so it is down to the insurance again
she has broke the bumper support at the side also
just got a £350 quote to fix it but if it goes thou the insurance it will be a new back bumper
Reply
Ouch, I'd be so f@£king peed off! You're not having much luck at the moment mate!

If they fit a new bumper will it not be the standard one without the splitter and cut for exhaust?
Reply
Did the accident happen while it was with the garage?. If it did surely it should be them dealing with it not you as it was hit while in there care so to speak.

It was on the road so up to me they have just admitted fault and there insurance will let me get it done at my local crash repair center I have just been down there and spoke to them new bumper and lower skirt paint etc they will do the cut out and parking sensors to how they are all my mods are declared now so no problems there like for like replace also getting another hire car again just got to Waite now till they can fit it in I don't really need this at the moment proper done in and fed up

What a pain in the ass! These things are sent to test us.
