My 2.0 CDTi is lumpy and lacks power lower down in the revs during a regen.

Car will consume more fuel. Put fuel comp to continuous consumption and it will drop into the 30's when driving, or sit at between 4 & 5 on tickover instead of 2.
It will also run lumpier, the exhaust note will sound deeper, and there will be less power lower down in the revs. You might even notice some smoke puffing out the exhaust, although I haven't noticed any on mine, which has covered 52,000 miles.
Some people have fitted an LED, which is paired up to the heated rear screen/door mirrors, as these come on when a regen is taking place to give a visual indication of it happening.
