What are your rims named?
Im not sure what they are called mate ill look it up, i just know they are the standard sri vx line rims 19 inch. They are a dark gun metal colour. Think i will probably change them in the future but not yet
Changed the side repeaters for smoked ones i got on ebay but im not convinced about them, i thought they would be darker ones so might change them again.
There is definately a difference when you hold the old ones up to the smoked ones but when you look at car without then i dont think theyre dark enoughAny thoughts guys? Do i need darker ones or not? And does anyone know where im guaranteed darker ones? I assumed smoked was smoked lol
I am not sure if those alloys (same as mine) have an official name as all I have ever found when searching for them is '19" 10 double spoke alloy wheel'

This is what the vxr side repeater look like on an astra... this is the same look that I'm aiming for eventually, with the same wheels and caliper colour.

Class lookin, like the blue on the front! You can put any colour you want with the black. I like the shark fin aswell defo something i want to change on mine but ive only standard cd400 so dont know if its compatible
The sharkfin is compatible, but you need to get a decent one as the reception can be hit and miss on some of the cheaper ones and you will need to add a 12v power to it from your rear fuse box which is pretty straight forward.

You can get after market 18" VXR alloy replicas like those pictured for £399, the 19's are £480. The 19" 10 double spoke VX alloys are about £150 each second hand on eBay.

Weather permitting i should get my griffin badges finished this week but im undecided whether to de badge all the writing on the back and the sri under the repeaters. Any thoughts?

Think ill black them first and see what i think. Is dip the same as painting them? Easier than wrapping?
so i had a go at changing colour of the gear numbers! Very happy with the results. It was tricky fiddling with the stickers so they lined up with the numbers, but i managed to get the lines white and numbers red. Had thought about doing the R in blue or something different but left it red for now.
Ive painted my front and rear griffin black but just wondering if i should attempt to paint the V and the writing red paint and a fine brush. Would modelling paint work ok? Or just leave them all black.

Yes mate i primed it painted it and lacquered it. Took me a while because its rained all week but got there lol. Just need to wrap the backing plate for front one gloss red today
(4:th-Jul-2016, 11:08:41)stigeye Wrote: How's the back griffin badge fixed, is it just 3m tape, how did you fix it back on or did you paint it in situ?
I ordered a new one on ebay and painted it first. Removed tbe old one and cleaned all the glue off the paintwork. Then put the one i painted on. It has 3m backing and 2 pins that fit into 2 holes ensuring its straight. Job done!
