Warranty diagnostic fee?
#1
Hey guys.

Need some advice. If your taking your in under warranty for an issue (car feels it has a lack of power). If the vauxhall dealership say they couldn't find anything wrong. Should you be paying a diagnostic fee if it's covered by warranty?

Thanks

If they find no fault they will charge you.

As others have already said, yes.

Warranty company won't cough up if there is nothing found, or wrong.

Diagnostic equipment used by dealers isn't cheap, nor is the software licence and updates. Someone has to contribute towards the cost, as well as the mechanics time.

If it turns out to be a faulty spark plug, or glow plug, generally the warranty won't cover payment and those items are classed as wear and tear items.

Hey thanks for advice. So car was in. They took it for a test drive and supposedly tried to hear issues under different circumstances e.g warm and cold and then scan for codes even though I knew it wouldn't flag anything. But I didn't get charged anything and in the past I haven't before either. Im always on the fence if I will but I have taken my car in a couple times for things that were not clear (felt was over heating and now this) even though the usual clear symptoms weren't there. But taken it in and no charge.
