Turbo/boost

Hi all,

I'm new to the group so apologies if I'm in the wrong place. I have an Astra j 1.7cdti on a 2011 plate. Long storey short, I bought a lemon of a car and have had to have a engine rebuild at 76k! Since the rebuild when I accelerate between 1800-2000rpm the car sounds like a dentists electric drill to best describe it. The turbo has been checked and is ok and no splits or lose pipes. My mechanic is scratching his head and even had it in rolling road diagnostics today and nothing came up and cannot find the cause.

Has anyone experienced this before or have any idea of the possible cause?

Sorry but my knowledge with engines is almost nonexistent but nothing is loose that could be rattling when under load perhaps? Is the noise constant ?

Nor sure on diesel's but thats typically a sign of the turbo on its way out .
