they do do them in gloss black for the GTC and the 5 door rusty should be able to help with the part numbers

I'm a factory ***** though..... But suppose it's an option. I've still got my old trim too so I could spray that to see if I like it.
Could you just literally spray over it or would you need to rub it down 1st

If you have you old one save pennies and spray it mate.
You would need to rub it back need to get a good key.
