Hi there has anyone ever had a problem with the ignition key not releasing on a gtc automatic

Presumably you're putting the gear lever in P before trying?

My ignition lock became stiff the other day. Had trouble getting the key in and out, and also the steering lock didn't always engage. Sorted out with a bit of lubrication.

I've not got a GTC, but I do have an auto, ot had any probs with key

as said^^^ could be car not recognising that its in P - I don't know if this is done by sensor or by a mechanical means
Its worth wiggling the selector to make sure its fully home.
