I've got a 2011 sports tourer and my rear drivers side brake light has an error. If I remove the light and move the wires it works again. Looking to replace the wiring but it's all one unit at £56 just for that... anyone know of a common fault/fix for this? Could just change the whole light.

Are the front DRL lights ok as they can also give errors in the rear for some reason have you still got standard bulbs And what exactly does the error message say but it does sound like a faulty light cluster so changing it is most likely the best option

I would also check the DRL/Sidelights. Also when you say move the wires do you mean you give them a wiggle by the connector?
You could also try cleaning up all the contacts a bit of WD40 and sandpaper for the connector it's self use a pin or small slot head screwdriver.

Actually I had the main beam lights changed but only to Philips x-treme vision. The error just reads "check brake light". If I remove the unit and twist the light out the bulb comes on. Will take it out and give it a clean... when it decides to stop raining. Cheers.

Really weird, as above I took it and moved the wire.. Bulb came on. Checked it again yesterday and moving the wire did nothing. Swapped the bulb to the indicator.. Nothing. Bulb back out and noticed the element hadn't gone but there was a slight black Mark on the metal. New bulb and fixed lol.. Feel a bit silly.
