RE: how to install FOOT WELL LIGHTS - tucpal - 27:th-May-2015 well done there they look real good RE: how to install FOOT WELL LIGHTS - sheppy1 - 29:th-May-2015 Ooooo I do like those!!! Ha. Bit too much going on though for me...I like to see the highlights from the ambient lighting and those other LEDs sort of drown them out RE: how to install FOOT WELL LIGHTS - aa234 - 1:st-Jun-2015 Nice guide thanks! RE: how to install FOOT WELL LIGHTS - Nemo - 11:th-Oct-2015 Good tut tucpal, I like the way you've wired it up but I was thinking of wiring it up to the headlights so that when they're on, the foot wells come on as well. Is there already a tut on that? how to install FOOT WELL LIGHTS - Lewis6317 - 11:th-Oct-2015 Omg i still need to do this Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk RE: how to install FOOT WELL LIGHTS - tucpal - 11:th-Oct-2015 if you tap into the ambient lighting from the headlight switch then they will do that RE: how to install FOOT WELL LIGHTS - Nemo - 12:th-Oct-2015 (11:th-Oct-2015, 20:45:01)tucpal Wrote: if you tap into the ambient lighting from the headlight switch then they will do that Any idea which wires they are? And a pic of possible, electrics isn't my forte RE: how to install FOOT WELL LIGHTS - tucpal - 12:th-Oct-2015 just wire it up to the headlight switch like in this how to but you will be using footwell lights instead http://www.vxoc.org.uk/forum/Thread-how-too-AMBIENT-LIGHT-AROUND-THE-GEAR-GATOR how to install FOOT WELL LIGHTS - Nemo - 12:th-Oct-2015 Thanks again tucpal Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk how to install FOOT WELL LIGHTS - Tonto - 20:th-Oct-2015 To add rear footwell lights can I just run an extra wire from front footwell lights to the rear? Also is there a particular spot to place them that's best? Also is there a particular spot to place them that's best? I did mine that way mate, I stuck them under the seats in between to vents using Velcro, will grab a pic later. how to install FOOT WELL LIGHTS - Tonto - 21:st-Oct-2015 Excellent thanks mate Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk RE: how to install FOOT WELL LIGHTS - sheppy1 - 22:nd-Oct-2015 Just ordered some of the single strip adhesive backed LEDs that @tucpal recommended for the rear door pockets. Think the big square ones recommended here are too bright for my car. Went for white too to keep up with the red and white interior lights I already have. Can't wait to fit them! Sent from my A0001 using Tapatalk how to install FOOT WELL LIGHTS - Rusty2009 - 23:rd-Oct-2015 Here's a couple of pics for you @Tonto Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk how to install FOOT WELL LIGHTS - Nemo - 23:rd-Oct-2015 Do they look just as good in red? I kinda like the red look opposed to blue Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk RE: how to install FOOT WELL LIGHTS - Rusty2009 - 23:rd-Oct-2015 if you have a look in my progress thread your see the red in the front I've not put red under the seats as I was going for a red and blue theme. http://www.vxoc.org.uk/forum/Thread-Progress-thread-Rusty2009 how to install FOOT WELL LIGHTS - Nemo - 23:rd-Oct-2015 Cheers Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk how to install FOOT WELL LIGHTS - Tonto - 23:rd-Oct-2015 Cheers @Rusty2009 I've ordered red so will wire them up when they get here! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk RE: how to install FOOT WELL LIGHTS - tucpal - 23:rd-Oct-2015 They really are very good LED,S and the price is well worth it you will love them how to install FOOT WELL LIGHTS - Nemo - 24:th-Oct-2015 Given that I'm considering wiring these up so that they're on with the headlights, will they be too bright at night? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk RE: how to install FOOT WELL LIGHTS - Rusty2009 - 24:th-Oct-2015 No not really mate. I still don't recommend having them on all the time they get very hot. I'm forever having to put new 3m tape on the passenger footwell light and that's after having the door open for 5mins. Also I would recommend you replace the wire for a thicker wire. how to install FOOT WELL LIGHTS - Nemo - 24:th-Oct-2015 Hmm I might consider some strips in that case then. Less bright and won't get as hot, and like you said, I can replace the wires in the strip. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk RE: how to install FOOT WELL LIGHTS - Rusty2009 - 24:th-Oct-2015 I've got a reel of strip just not got round to swapping them over. how to install FOOT WELL LIGHTS - Nemo - 24:th-Oct-2015 I was looking at the reels, can they be cut and rewired? It looks cheaper than buying them already cut and wired Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk how to install FOOT WELL LIGHTS - Tonto - 24:th-Oct-2015 Now you mention the reel of strip @Rusty2009 ha, could have said before I ordered 4 new panels haha Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk RE: how to install FOOT WELL LIGHTS - Rusty2009 - 24:th-Oct-2015 Yes most can be cut every 3 LED's. This is the company I buy from (linked to blue) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/5M-Blue-Waterproof-300LED-3528-SMD-Flexible-LED-Fairy-Light-Lamp-Strip-12V-/390973770969?hash=item5b07da4cd9:g:Zf4AAOSwEppURfoo I always buy the waterproof ones too. I bought panels for rear too :/ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk how to install FOOT WELL LIGHTS - Nemo - 24:th-Oct-2015 Cheers Rusty, I've actually been looking at the RGB ones, with a controller to change the colour Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk RE: how to install FOOT WELL LIGHTS - Rusty2009 - 24:th-Oct-2015 I have been looking at them too not sure if they are cuttable just read the description. how to install FOOT WELL LIGHTS - Nemo - 24:th-Oct-2015 Ah well I've ordered some from China, pre cut and pre wired, I'll probably just need to extend the wires. Will let you know when I've done it and I'll grab some pics too Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Just a side question, where did you run the wires to the back ones? Through the centre console or along the sides of the the car? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk RE: how to install FOOT WELL LIGHTS - Rusty2009 - 24:th-Oct-2015 Pics are a must. I did run them via the centre console but when I took the seats and centre console out to fit the amp I ran them under the carpet. how to install FOOT WELL LIGHTS - Nemo - 24:th-Oct-2015 Cheers rusty, they're not coming until the beginning of November! Snail mail at its finest there Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk RE: how to install FOOT WELL LIGHTS - sheppy1 - 30:th-Oct-2015 Sooooo I failed at life with this today! Hahaha. I took everything out (glove box etc.) which is now starting to take its toll on the car as I've broke more than 1 clip on every god damn panel in that side of the car! And then could juist barely see the looms I needed to splice into...it was securely tucked behind the fuse box and didn't wanna budge! I don't wanna yank on it and break something and then the sun went down and I gave up :( how to install FOOT WELL LIGHTS - Rusty2009 - 30:th-Oct-2015 Tap off the courtesy light so much quicker and easier. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk how to install FOOT WELL LIGHTS - Tonto - 30:th-Oct-2015 Oh dear mate, yeah it was a pin but fuse box does come out which makes it easier! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk RE: how to install FOOT WELL LIGHTS - sheppy1 - 31:st-Oct-2015 Yeah I was gonna go off the courtesy light but then I'd have to rewire my LED strip as I've already wired and soldered it up now ready for the short trip it would have needed from under the glove box and to the footwell. Will try this weekend anyway [SMILING FACE WITH SMILING EYES] Sent from my A0001 using Tapatalk how to install FOOT WELL LIGHTS - Tonto - 31:st-Oct-2015 If you can get fuse box out then it is so much easier to get in to! It definitely comes out of holder as mine did! I was upside down in footwell with feet on headrest though haha! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk RE: how to install FOOT WELL LIGHTS - Rusty2009 - 31:st-Oct-2015 there is a tab each side at the top push them in pull forward then lift bottom out. how to install FOOT WELL LIGHTS - Tonto - 31:st-Oct-2015 Thanks @Rusty2009 I couldn't remember how to get it out off the top of my head. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk RE: how to install FOOT WELL LIGHTS - tucpal - 31:st-Oct-2015 (24:th-Oct-2015, 12:06:10)Nemo Wrote: Cheers rusty, they're not coming until the beginning of November! Snail mail at its finest there nemo clear your pm box its fullĀ but they were sold is the answer how to install FOOT WELL LIGHTS - Tonto - 1:st-Nov-2015 I'm not impressed at all with the red footwell lights I've received... They're very hard to see, I know it's daytime but my blue LEDs were very visible and looked great, these well I can't hardly notice them at all... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk how to install FOOT WELL LIGHTS - Nemo - 1:st-Nov-2015 See they'd be perfect for me, I want them on all the time at night. I've got some on order from China that let me change the colour with a remote Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk RE: how to install FOOT WELL LIGHTS - Rusty2009 - 1:st-Nov-2015 They do look dull are they the 48SMD panels? how to install FOOT WELL LIGHTS - Tonto - 1:st-Nov-2015 Yeah I've waited a couple of weeks from Hong Kong too. Yeah exact same place I bought blue ones, they are 48 smd panels.. http://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/231237289762 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
