  Camera
Posted by: Patrick050289 - 4:th-May-2017, 14:26:30 - Forum: Astra-J/GTC - Replies (13)

Hi Everyone,
I am new to the forum - please be gentle Newbie

A couple of weeks ago I had my Vectra written off, as a result of which I am now a happy Astra J, 2012, 2.0CDTI sri owner ( well - will be on Saturday when I pick it up! ).
I must say, car is lovely, but missing a few "essentials".

I've placed an order for the M072 Android HU ( S160), and already own an Inphase USW10 underseat sub so will get those fitted in spare time.

I would also like to retro fit a reversing camera and with no previous knowledge I have the following questions:

1. What kind of a camera do I need? I've read somewhere that the J's cameras can go into the boot handle ( Don't want to drill in the bumper + I think it will be easier to wire it to the reverse light, but can't find one anywhere that would look suitable ). A link would be nice if anyone would be so kind.

2. Not sure what this feature is called, but will this camera adjust the "marking lines" as I turn the wheels?

Many Thanks!
Patrick

  Hello

Good morning, Gerry here in Glasgow. Despite being 53 I picked up what is only my 2nd car, yesterday, (only took and passed my test Dec 14). It's a red 63 plate, Astra J GTC 1.4, absolutely delighted. I'll be looking to put in a new head unit with Bluetooth and navigation at some point, and have seen some very useful and interesting threads on vxoc, on the subject.
Cheers
Gerry

Hey everyone, as the subject says Im new here. Real names Craig but some how the nick name Hank has stuck. Currently owned my 2015 Astra GTC 2.0 CDTI for 1 year and starting to modify it. Any help is appreciated. Pride myself on keeping her clean (yes I named  my car). main changes I have in mind are new alloys, been trying to find a air suspension kit with little luck so far, so might settle on coil overs. Looked at some body modifications but leaving that till later. As it stands the now all Iv currently done is a cat back exhaust from pipe dynamics in Leven. Looking foreword to hearing from yous Smile

This is my Opel GTC Sport, from when opel tried for 12 months to make it in Aus, it's a full spec astra with full leather, navi 900, 1.6
Turbo. the only things its missing is AFL's and Adaptive suspension. So far ive only fitted front mud flaps to it (modified genuine ones). next mods include Retrofit TPMS, and rear mud flaps.

Chris Knott - great prices AND service...

Thank you to everyone who took up new policies with Chris Knott in April - our best month so far this year -  you helped us reach 114% of our target! We're genuinely grateful for your custom.

Our retention of existing clients at renewal was also much higher than expected in April. Evidence that we do have the great rates available for car club/forum members and enthusiasts that we claim.

Here's what a couple of club members said:
"It just gets better. My documents arrived today and my premium is only £300.50 which is £10 cheaper than I was quoted." CiderFex, New Mini Scotland forum

"Hello, I've just just got my Civic insured with Chris Knott. They [quoted] me £200 less than my renewal quote and £20.75 off the next best quote. I'm well happy." YonderBen, CivInfo

"Chris Knott beat my *** renewal majorly. And by that I mean it was half the price!" rob275, GT86/BRZ Drivers Club

Please give us a call if your car insurance is due in the coming days and find out how much you can save by switching to Chris Knott.

Remember, if you request a quote up to 31st May 2017 you'll gain automatic entry in our prize draw to WIN 2x 2017 British F1 Grandstand Tickets for Silverstone (with parking). You'll also qualify if you're an existing client with a renewal due during the qualification period.

We can quote upto 30 days ahead, so even if you're due in June we can quote you before the closing date.

QUOTELINE: 0800 917 2274 - please mention this forum when you call for your quote.

best,
Nick

PS. When we give you a good quote it doesn't mean we're sacrificing on quality or service. Members are happy with our service too:

"Morning guys, just wanted to say thank you to Kathy for her amazing service when quoting me for insurance.  The quality of knowledge and friendliness was really refreshing, especially after dealing with my current insurer and others.  I am just awaiting a call back to finish of the deal. Could you pass on my thanks and praise." Carta, FiestaSTOC

"Chris Knott - Brilliant Service. Just got off the phone with Chris Knott Insurance and was really really surprised at how pleasant an experience the whole process was!! So a big thanks to them and the forum code no doubt helped as I got cover for my 'new to me' '59 beetle for £77 fully comp inc agreed value. Well happy!" SimonRev, Volkszone

"I would also like to add my thanks for the excellent service I have received over the last few years." Mr T Bodill, CivInfo

"Just renewed with @ChrisKnottIns and I suggest you do too! Great service and price plus you can speak to a real person!" @Neil_Sealy, Twitter

What you will need,
I used dental floss but string will do and a bowl of warm soapy water

First get a length of floss and put under the badge and work back and to

It should come off quite nicely and reveal the foamy sticker that held it on
[Image: 417580a8c483f1e2a8cb780f923d2570.jpg]
What i did was ran it under my thumb and it should peel off

Remove all the badges you want and wash with the warm soapy water and your done!
