VXOC Astra-J/GTC

I bought an Astra J 3 months ago and I was trying to locate vin number punched to the chassis. The Chassis number was covered in surface rust and I could see some numbers so I tried to remove rust with some sand paper and rust remover. Now I cannot see the numbers at all . Is there any product I can use to make the number reappear?

There is also a VIN plate in the windscreen

They've only ever looked at the 1 in the widescreen when I have MOT.
