guys ive been studing forums everywhere to get some info on the signal problems whilst using the window mounted antenna that are to be used with the dabs usb modules for android head units.

i fitted this unit
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/HD-1024-...0.0.JesoCG

and had to get the dabs module to suit with antenna

problem is when all is said and done the signal from these antennas is absolutely rubbish.

i have been reading that only a passive antenna could be used with these modules as an alternative

has anyone else had similar problems with a different solution...?

Yep window mount antennas are terrible.

Very most likely not true.

If I were you I'd fit the original antenna amplifier. Have a look in the DAB retrofit how-to threads for more info. The in-glass antenna DAB reception is really excellent for me, and all you'd need is the amplifier plus some coax cable.

i have an astra gtc , and the oem shark fin is for gps which i never had.

however i have traced back the black fm and blue dabs Aerial back to the side windows for the fm and i see the dabs blue cable on the drivers side back quarter panel pillar.
both these Aerials have amplifiers attached to the car panels and power connecting to them...
i was told the dabs usb module for android can not work with amplified aerial.

zzattack..i have 2 antenna in the back quarter panels glass....but i think both are fm stereo.
the blue connector which is dabs is on the pillar between the glass and the boot lid...

but i can only see a connection out......not a connection in ..and power going to the booster...

hows does this gtc 2.0 2012 model receive the Dabs signal????

there is only a brown connector at the roof as far as i can see...

have you any thoughts on this????

much appreciated!!
