Evening all,

I just picked up an GTC 2.0 CDTI 165 and was wanting to get it remapped, on paper the car goes from 165bhp to 350NM to 200bhp with 440NM which looks fantastic.

The worry I have is according to several online sources the gearbox is only rated for 400NM and I was wondering if anyone has been in a similar situation and could say if the gearbox held up okay?

Cheers!
Ross
Correct me if I'm wrong but it's the same gearbox as the Vxr and I'm sure they pump out more than 440 nvm

Cheers James
The gearbox on a GTC VXR is F40CR I believe, and according to VX own website and various other sources the torque is 400Nm, not sure what it is rated at though. I wouldn't consider having a car mapped past it's threshold, not unless you like spending money on replacing the clutch gearbox etc etc.
there have been plenty who have gone up to 200bhp on the 2.0 cdti with no problems
anything over that is pushing it for sure if it is a custom map you could get them to go for 190 and lower the NM nearer to 400NM
i would be wanting the EGR delte mapped out also but keep the DPF as you may have MOT problems
Thanks for all the replies lads!
Running around 215bhp and 460nm and over a year of driving hard from 2nd gear to 5th and not had a issue. Gearbox is pretty solid.its the clutch and dmf that takes more of a hammering.
A Vectra VXR is pushing 355Nm. The VXR gearbox is rated 400Nm. But the rating is not peak performance. It is rated in constant pressure of 400Nm. Therefore is has no problem handling 500-550Nm.
