No mate the run won't make a diffrace, I'll look into it more tomorrow when at PC.
Cheers @rusty2009 appreciate that.

Part of me thinks the module could be wrong for the car but that's just a guess

I'm just trying to get the pinout for the DAB module but my offline version has gone haywire and for some reason I can't boot into my XP install, I will get there.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
No worries. Just so you know, the P/N for the module i have is 13410170

Sent from my LG G4 using Tapatalk
Any joys @rusty2009?

Sent from my LG G4 using Tapatalk
Not yet mate looks like I need to re-install XP.
What a mission lol.

No worries. I'll hold fire. It's still not burst into life anyway lol

Right as you can see from the following there is no 12v power for the aerial from the DAB module.

[Image: A12%20Digital%20Radio%20Receiver%20Contr...%20UBT.jpg]

Having a look at the A11 Radio plug Pin 43 has the remote enabled signal wire on it, so I will see if I can find where that is running to for you.

Update on the 7066 Remote enable wire.

I've found where it runs to for the aerial

So there are 2 possbile locations for it It will be Pin12 on both

X403 Tailgate Extension Harness to Body Harness (14 cavities) In the cargo area, near the left tail lamp assembly

[Image: X403%20Tailgate%20Extension%20Harness%20...arness.jpg]

Or

X404 Tailgate Extension Harness to Tailgate Harness (14 cavities) In the luggage compartment, in the tailgate

[Image: X404%20Tailgate%20Extension%20Harness%20...arness.jpg]

My bet would be X403 is the one to go for as it's the easiest to get to, Now I may even a pin for said plug but we need to know it works first.

I'll grab a pic of the plug for you that would help you find it.
Please see post above updated...
I'm going to sound really thick now so please forgive that, but.... What does that mean in simple terms?

Also, your pin out screen shots say UBT on them. Does it make a difference that the ident on my module is U4D?

Sent from my LG G4 using Tapatalk
Let me check the sig pin out I totally forgot that
Right I think I know what's going on here looking at the wiring digram of a sig DAB module.

Although they are same there seems to be one small diffrance with the aerial. But I need to get the Pinout for the aerial and it's not on the offline.
I think you may well need this http://www.car-interface.com/vendita/en/...ifier.html

From what I can work out on the Insignia the 12v goes through the aerial port.
So does that go in between the cable from the car and the module? Does the blue wire go into the plug?

Sorry to be a burden!!

Sent from my LG G4 using Tapatalk
Yes, I would grounding the blue wire.
Ground it or attach it to a live (ie the red cable from the ariael)

Sent from my LG G4 using Tapatalk
Try grounding it 1st.
Ok. I can take that off the lighter socket aswell so we'll see what happens.

Sent from my LG G4 using Tapatalk
Back to square one on this unfortunately. The part arrived today (24hrs from Italy via DHL.... Not bad), Test wired it all in with no change and DAB did not come up.

I tried it in the following areas:

1) From car wiring direct to module. Tried both live and ground
2) Inbetween the wire for the aerial and the car (near the bonnet catch) again both live and ground.

I've attached some images of the fault code and the programming info of the module in case it give you guys any further insight

This is the label on the module i have

I think it may well be the module being incorrect
I'm starting to think this myself. With the help of @rusty2009 I've tried different things but it's not having it. I'm assuming that assuming I find a different module (which is not looking good at the moment) then it'll need to be reprogrammed?

Sent from my LG G4 using Tapatalk
if he enabled the option it may well work hopefully
correct part number 13319590 UBT..
I will keep an eye out
If you can that will be great. Cheers mate.

Sent from my LG G4 using Tapatalk
The module it's self may need to programmed to your car. Really weird this as I've been told the Insigina ones will work.
Is that not what ***** would have done when I plugged it in?

I wonder if it's because it's not a UBT module.

Sent from my LG G4 using Tapatalk
Yep I tried about 4 times on Lewis and although I could program the DAB module it wouldn't work until we got a VCI code

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
There's the issue then. There was no mention of a VCI code when it was 'programmed'. I've emailed Andy and asked him to have a goose at this thread. He said the module should be ok but without a VCI code it won't work.

Sent from my LG G4 using Tapatalk
Are right I thought he did the programing already yes a vci would be needed for sure
Just sent him a message. He's going to request a VCI to finish it off.

I can't really explain what's what as I don't know the system but he said that whilst he's willing to give it a go it doesn't give him an option for a VCI on the retrofit list.

I must admit though, I find him very helpful. I'm sure alot of other people would have not been bothered seeing as they'd already been paid. It's nice to know there's a supportive network in the Astra world.

Sent from my LG G4 using Tapatalk
Iirc it is on the list, if not he just goes to program the DAB module and selects VCI then request which he should know anyway.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
MY 10.5 did not need a VCI but anything after that would need one
the DAB is not a common retro fit maybe he has not done one yet that needs one
sure he will sort it out
Well just for home after my third visit to *****. Had the VCI loaded into the car and voila... DAB. To say I'm happy after so long is an understatement.... Rocking down the A38 to Kisstory.... Small things!

Glad your all up and running now ***** will know for next time that a VCI is required if no DAB after programming.
I think it was a learning curve for both me and him.

Just out if interest, where it normally shows FM radio text on DAB it says either D1 National or the area that it's locked into the station. Is there an option to make it show the radio text. When I press info the text is there but it's not on the main display. From what I can gather the option for RDS text option is for FM not DAB.

Sent from my LG G4 using Tapatalk
Tucpal or Lewis will have to answer that one not have factory dab
My shows text etc but not sure there is a setting try config radio settings but I now have nav 500
Over to you to explain then @Lewis6317 [THUMBS UP SIGN]

Sent from my LG G4 using Tapatalk

There's only something in RDS for radio text.

Sent from my LG G4 using Tapatalk
And well done glad you got it working
Just thought I'd say Vauxhall have a new DAB Plus module out part number 13435756 there is a TSB for this which I've come across today.

#14-E-3054: DAB Radio - No DAB Plus Function - (2014-08-04)
I've read on a German forum that mine may be a DAB+ module, although there isn't DAB+ in the uk

http://www.motor-talk.de/forum/digitalra...ml?page=14

Sent from my LG G4 using Tapatalk

There's one on ebay at the moment for £10 less than what I paid for mine

Sent from my LG G4 using Tapatalk
ah but most DAB products now to be DAB+ ready
Makes sense. I'm sure we'll get it eventually. By the looks of things, it's been rolled out to some parts of Europe.

Have to say the standard factory DAB does drop out very often in built up areas were I live
that'll be your aerial mate, when I was trying out glass mounted ones every-time the aerial was not facing the signals it would drop out.
Factory set up all fitted ok just a crap receiver I think [SMILING FACE WITH SMILING EYES]
does it drop out same place in both directions of travel?
Yep always same place very built up part or the center of town also car parks it drops out also but FM is perfect
After many months finally got my DAB sorted thanks to Rusty. Very good upgrade on sound quality for the majority of the major stations, espcially with the sub in the back.

What I am very surprised at is the sound quality on some of the lesser known stations.

Who decided it was ok to do music at 64kbit MONO? (KISSTORY) get better quality with the pirate FM stations round here.
