Tyres - what have you got on your car ?
My Astra will soon be needing a couple of tyres, and at 235 45 r18 size they won't be cheap.
I don't like to use cheap tyres, they are often dangerous in the wet, but on the other hand I don't much fancy paying £150 a tyre for premium tyres either.
What kind of tyres are you using and what do you think of them...?

Changed my wheels - what you think?
So, a few weeks, maybe a coupe of months, ago I posted THIS message about a set of wheels I bought.

You guys advised they were off an Astra Bi-Turbo.

I really liked the look of these and they were practically mint. So I fancied a change so decided to upgrade.

My car is an Elite, I never every liked the original wheels anyway, so last year I changed them to the SRI Facelift Turbine style wheels.

But now that

Can You Add Front Fogs to an Astra J?
My 2011 1.7 CDTI Astra J does not have front fog lights, just the turn signals where the fogs would be. So can you upgrade and add front fogs to the Astra J?

How do you check gearbox oil on A20DTH/160ps?
We have a 2011/11 Astra J CDTI 160.

Always felt the gears are a bit stiff, is there a way of checking the oil level, or does something else somewhere else need some lubrication?

Comparing to my other cars, both Insignia's with the same engine, the Astra really requires more force on the gearstick to engage, not harsh, but noticably more pressure.

Clutch is fine, we have had to four years and its been the same since day 1.

Thanks.

Improvements to help more of you save money
Improvements to help more members save money

So, Chris Knotts haven't been standing still these last few months. In fact, we've expanded our panel of insurers - meaning we can now quote for more members.

Along with some postcode and no claims bonus relaxations, there's now an even longer list of acceptable mods (NO limit on BHP with this new insurer for example).

On top of that, there are some really low quotes out there at the moment (including with these companies we use) so ma

Have you ever thought about Excess Protection Insurance?
Let’s say you recently made a claim on your Car Insurance.

The good news is that it's been processed and you’ve received a payout so you can get your vehicle back on the road.

However, you may find that paying the excess on your claim means your finances still take a hit.

This is where Excess Protection Insurance comes in. With this policy in place, you’ll get your policy excess back – even if you’re at fault.

This is a policy that is now open to everyone, even if you don’t have
