I've had my 1.7cdti over 3 years now and never encountered this problem up to this morning, but white smoke was being omitted from my exhaust (not at high revs) which the most awful burning smell similar to the DPF burning-off smell. I stopped the car with the engine running and it carried on smoking for a minute before I decided to continue my journey to Bradford and back to which it didn't happen again. What do people recommend to help protect white paint? Before my Dad retired I used to use the stuff they used to clean and protect the hearse's and limos but can't remember what it was called.

Does anyone have a spare gear gator with the white stitching? I've found it on ebay but it comes with the gear stick aswell for 20 quid... Was just thinking someone on here may have just the gator for a little bit less?

Before I went shopping for the astra, I test drove the new civic 1.6 diesel. The ride was better than the previous generation but still pretty poor.

The 1.6 motor was OK but I didn't think there was enough power to keep me interested very long.

Next job was to 5d Carbon wrap my mirror covers as they are marked with stone chips etc

HI Im fortunate to have the chance of buying my first GTC SRI 2ltr Diesel. I thought it was gonna be plain sailing in buying a white one, then saw a black one, wow they both look good. Both with roughly the same spec. Any thoughts would be appreciated on how the blacks fairs up with scratches etc?
