ANDROID B5754 HEAD UNIT
Hi!

Just got my Astra J SRI VX line, very happy with it apart from the lack of Bluetooth :-(

Anyway i've been doing a lot of searching on the net and i was going to buy the Retrofit bluetooth module for the CD400 but its a lot of money just for bluetooth. I also thought about a double din head unit but the cost of the modified surround is stupid money for a bit of plastic trim. So i've stumbled upon the Android head units, i've seen a couple on threads on here and a couple of videos on You

Kotix Custom ROM for the Android S160 (M072) Head Unit
Due to Sheppy's original thread for the S160 (M072) Android HU Installation getting off topic/polluted with Kotix ROM chatter, I thought it might be worthwhile setting up a separate thread for the Kotix ROM discussion.

For those not familiar with the Kotix ROM, it is a custom ROM for the S160 unit (Not just the M072 - M072 is the Astra J version of it) which provides some additional functionality and also overcomes some of the limitations of the standard ROM.

The main benefits are:-

Android 8.0 V5754 Head unit questions
Hi all,
I curently have one of the older android hu from icebox, but looking at the v5754 mainly to get the better CPU and more ram. Octo core CPU and 4Gb ram (My hu has only 1Gb today).

I can see some of you already bought this hu, and I have some questions for you:

1) how is the Bluetooth module? In My current hu the radio disconnects the BT connection to My Phone (it has done it with multiple Phone) every 2-5min, also during a call, very annoying..

2) do you have any issues with Noise, li

Android head unit stuck
I installed my v5754 recently and it's been working perfectly. However when I was driving along today with Google maps running and playing music from the microsd card (done that before many times without issues) when the unit froze. I pulled fuse 4 from the fuse box behind the glovebox to reset power to the head unit and now it's stuck on a recovery screen. None of the buttons move the selectio on screen so I can't choose either option. Help please![IMG]https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180401/

Dash cam on Android unit
Hi, I'm a noob here, I'm picking up a 2012 Astra Elite on Saturday.  I've been reading a lot about replacing the CD400 with Android head units, which sounds good to me as I'd like Bluetooth and DAB.  I've been given a dashcam recently (Nextbase Duo HD) but I've seen that you can add cameras to the Android units.  Is this as good as having a separate dashcam, and can you also use the rear camera as a reversing camera?  Thanks!
