Hi could anybody help with my astra j starting issue.it starts very intermittantly when engine is warm will not start at all. Runs very well when aventually does start. I have changed glow plugs, fuel filter, but cant locate the fuel pump to see if that is an issue.had it to the dealer and they want to do a process of alimination which i cant afford...any ideas please help. This morning I went to start the car as usual but all I got was a click tried a few more times and eventually it started however I had no lights on my radio even when lights were switched on I pressed the radio button and all was fine!I have changed the battery and starter motor last year as was having problems.but this is out of the blue?!

Need your help folks.

A month or so ago, I was getting a random "Service Theft Deterrent System" message coming up randomly and my start/stop wasnt working.

So googled it and everything pointed towards a dodgy battery, especially as the start/stop want working.

Anyway, I replaced the battery for another good second hand one and low & behold, the start/stop started working so that nailed that S/S problem. However randomly I was still getting a "Service Theft Deterrent System"

I own an astra J 1.4 turbo (A14NET, bifuel, 40XXX km) and having some intermittent starting problems for a few weeks now. The problem is an extended cranking time, altough it doesn't always occur. Sometimes it starts up perfectly fine from the first crank, sometimes it coughs into life and sometimes it takes 5-6 cranks to start. Ones started up, it runs perfectly.

I have a 2012 Astra J 1.3 CDTi, only had the car for 6 weeks now, when i went to view it it was fine, started fine was in really good condition in and out so decided to purchase it.
The next morning it took ages to start and when it eventually did was a bit chuggy till it warmed up.
I took it too a mechanic who said there were 3 codes which related to glowplug 1,2 and 3, so i had him change all four. After having this done, it was fine for about 10 days now seem to have gone back to

Had my car sitting at work for 9 hours yesterday and when I started it I heard a 2 second ish rattle/squeek which I'm unaware of and this has never happened before. I turned the car off and on again but didn't hear it again. Hi guys,i have astra j 1.7 110hp and when i turn off the car i pull the key out and put it back in half way ,so the radio can shut off. But few days ago i noticed when i put the key back in ,my car wants to start by itself and press clutch light is blinking,today i was accidentaly holding the clutch and car just started and then shut off by itself,anyone knows what could be the problem?

Owned the car almost a year, but not really been the year to start with the dreaded C virus! 

Ordered the Racechip GTS to get me up and running. Trying to work on performance alongside looks. Will likely setup an Insta for the transformation.
