Changing Rear Shock Absorbers. Astra-J Hatch. Replace or reuse bottom bolts?
Hi folks,

I'm about to change the rear shocks on my car, and according to the info on the Vauxhall workshop manuals website the bottom bolt that connects the shock to the suspension arm should not be reused, but a new one fitted.

The torque settings given are to tighten initially to 150 Nm, and then tighten a further 65 degrees. This suggests to me that it's a stretch bolt. Am I correct?

In all the years I've replaced shock absorbers on various Vauxhall cars, this is the first time I've

BiTurbo Rear Bumper
Hi All,

New to VXOC despite having an Astra H, a J VXR and now a J BiTurbo (had the BiTurbo for about 4 and a half years now).

I wondered if anyone would have the knowledge to help me out with this one. Result of going through a rather large puddle in winter at night which I couldn't see until I was in it unfortunately. I've had a look and I think the lower section will come away from the bumper, but I can't find a replacement online anywhere for it. Being a BiTurbo its slightly different

Changing rear brake discs
Hi,

I've already found the how2 for changing the front and rear pads, but no mention (that I can find) of also changing the rear discs on a 2.0 CDti with 292mm discs.

I have a rewind tool, and it was previously mentioned to me that both pistons need rotating back in clockwise. Is that correct?

Also, I have a traditional handbrake that is operated via a lever. Anything I need to know about before attempting to change the d

Rear view camera
Hi I have just fitted an Astra K rea rview camera to my Cascada and connected it to a Navi600 unit. But  I am struggling to find a reverse feed for it, I had thought I had found one but alas it didn't work so to test the wiring I fed this wire directly to a live feed from the battery which got the camera to work when I put it in reverse so I know all the rest of the wiring is correct.

Does anybody know where I can get a reverse feed from as I have had a look at the back of the wiring on the r
