Low cost recovery service
Just this week I had to have my Astra recovered after it had broken down 8-10 miles from my home.
First time I've ever had to use a recovery/breakdown service.
I'm with Start Rescue, I found them on Compare The Market. Only cost me £18.79 for the year.
The breakdown lorry arrived within half an hour and took my wife and dogs home before taking my car to the local Vauxhall dealer.
I would recommend them if you're looking to save a few quid on your breakdown cover.

Add low-level tulp jack to headunit
I had installed my audio amplifier using a high/low-converter because the standard radio doesn't come with low-level RCA/tulp outputs. Disappointed by the signal quality I decided to see whether we could just grab the low-level inputs before they hit the amplifier in the headunit.

Bad news for me was that the unit is really hard to disassemble beyond a certain point. I couldn't get a view of the amplifier circuit until I removed the metal shield/frame on the backside of the unit. This was sol

Hi, I have a 1.6 auto SRi and the avergage MPG doesn't get any higher than 22 which is really low. Driving it as efficiently as I possibly can.

Can something else be wrong?

Low compression
Hello,
15 days ago my astra j 1.7 CDTI went into safe mode. I drove the car back to home in limp mode for about 10km. Day after I was booked in local garage. But the car has no power. Suddenly, after 200m the car stopped. It starts for 2sec and again stop... To cut the story garage was diagnose totally corked DPF filter. Cause: two injectors were corked by bad fuel. Anyway, DPF is now out completely (strait pipe) and remap done and injectors repaired. But now, service struggle to adj

Intermittent low loss of engine power
Hi all hope you’ve all had a great Christmas.

I’m experiencing a strange fault/ feeling with my 1.7 Cdti Astra.
At times it feels like the engine is a bit flat and other times it’s normal, I have also noticed a very slight hesitation under normal acceleration. It sometimes feels like a non turbo engine. No apparent leaks on the pipework and no engine management light on. Has anyone had any experience of similar issues, I’m thinking either the turbo’s on its way out or the boost pressure sensor

I have the facelift J 2.0l elite and mirrors and sensors those are standard and I find this annoying
I am open to advice Thanks

Hi Guys
My Vauxhall Astra J 1.7cdti, Hatchback, 5 Door, 2011 61Reg.

My Diesel Fuel Gauge is was showing few days a Low in fuel and then after a bit showing half tank and then again low fuel.

However on the same day in the evening i just filled in £20 worth of fuel just to be on the safe side, but since then i have driven 1.5 miles, but not noticed the error of the low fuel.

What could it be is it the Pump, Float Valve or the Sender Unit ?
