Hi there, I can see that there are other threads regarding this matter but I can't seem to find the exact information I'm after. I have a 2011 Astra J 1.7 CDTI and I want to lower it, so I have been looking at Eibach springs as I don't want to go for cheap coilovers. Ideally I'm aiming for a drop of at least 30mm all round as you know the arch gap is pretty big as standard. I have recently put 18" VXR alloys onto the car also. I am sorry if someone already questioned about this. So i own Astra J 1.6 turbo SIDI 170hp with code A16XHT. I wonder if the "updated engine A16SHT with 200 hp is the same , but only different software. I talked with a guy in the local dealership and he told me it's just software " these extra 30hp" . Sooo, can somebody give more info about this .

Hi folks,

I'm about to change the rear shocks on my car, and according to the info on the Vauxhall workshop manuals website the bottom bolt that connects the shock to the suspension arm should not be reused, but a new one fitted.

The torque settings given are to tighten initially to 150 Nm, and then tighten a further 65 degrees. This suggests to me that it's a stretch bolt. Am I correct?

It’s been well looked after and I’ve been its 2nd owner since November 2016 at 13,181miles on the clock. It’s currently at 44,040. FSH, 7 stamps of which 6 were done by Main Dealer (see pics). Two keys and V5C are in my name.

looking to see if anyone can help with a problem i have with my 13 plate Astra J SRI, 

For a while the radiator fan was staying on (common issue i know), i didnt do anything about it until recently, 

I have replaced the thermostat and housing, the temperature sensor, checked that all the fuses are intact, removed the sensor from the air filter and still nothing from the fan, 

I kept getting the message "coolant level low - add Coolant" i replaced the expansion tan

I have an Astra J hatchback, 2015 reg, I think it is “pre facelift” but not sure.
It has slow punctures on both off side wheels


My tyre garage (Formula 1 Autos) told me that air is leaking from between the valve body and the alloy wheel seat.
They say that if I can get hold of replacement valves they will replace them. They say that this will not involve disturbing the TPMS.


Are they correct?
Is the TPMS separate from the valve on this car? All I can find are combined TPMS and valve

So 77 000 km behind and 10 years, outer and timing belt not yet changed. Heard that when changing outer belt you have to release the tensioner by taking the right inner wing away etc. Is it so? Any tips. Perhaps time to do timing belt, too? Is it normal job (done V6 several times so basically I can do it but never touched 1.6). What is timing belt change interval? How about water pump? Recommendation for kits?
