New to the site so nice to meet you all.

I've bought a 2010 Astra SRI 1.4t a few weeks back but it's developed a fault but thought I'd ask for some advice!

Car drives fine but occasionally drops power when pulling off, say from a roundabout, like all the power drains out of it then suddenly resurges and drives back as normal.

Idle is fine but when left standing it gets rougher and rougher until it almost seems to stall out but then recovers.

I had my 2013 Astra 2.0cdti in for service last week and was told it had a recall to "upgrade the cars software". I've since learned this is an upgrade to the ECM software.

Since the service it simply does not feel like the same car. I'm having to change down gears to get up hills I've driven everyday without the need previously for example. 

Does anyone know what is involved in this upgrade and if it could have altered my car's performance? I believe the upgrade may have something

I've owned my 63 plate 2.0cdti elite auto for around a year now, this being my 4th J.
Anyway for around a year now this one has suffered from a very intermittent starting prob.
I went to start the car today, as you do. Just before setting off to work. Sat in my car, gearstick within the parked position (being an auto), turned ignition key on to start it, nothing. Turned key off, then back on again, but within the on, not starting position. Clocks did their checks, turned it on, nothing again. Tu
