Dry, almost grinding type noise from front wheels / discs area
I have noticed a strange noise on my astra j. The noise sounds like when a brake disc lip may be slightly rubbing / touching the caliper. However, it is not this making the noise. The noise happens all the time. It doesnt change if i brake, turn left or right and it doesnt change with clutch or gear changes. If i push the car when it is off i can still hear it. Possibly from drive shaft area?? Has anyone else had this?

Clutch adjustment/grinding gears
Hi,

I've recently bought a 1.4t astra J. To me the clutch bite is way too low. I find myself trying to get through gears rapidly and grinding gears, especially 1st into 2nd. With the nature of the engine, it needs to be reved, but I find myself nervous of moving through the gears too much.

It may well be me, and the way I drive, but the clutch bites and disengages within the bottom inch of travel. Is this normal? Can it be adjusted at all?

Thanks,
Ben

Squeaking, whirring and grinding
I've had my J since mid-August. Haven't really had any issues until now. It's a 1.3 CDTI. I noticed a squeaking that was getting louder. I looked under the bonnet and it was one of the belts (not sure which) but it didn't quieten/get louder with acceleration. The squeaking has now died down and now I mainly hear a whirring from inside the car, as if the belt is struggling to go round. Just earlier on a short journey I heard three times, what I can only describe as a grinding sound, the same soun

Grinding rotating noise from GTC?
Hi all,

Got a little problem with the GTC 2014 Sport CDTI 2.0L. Recently its been making this horrible grinding noise. The noise is really loud when I turn the car on in the morning, it eases away when the car is warmed up a bit but does not disappear. It seems to be coming from under the engine but I can't be sure.

A lot of information online has pointed to the DMF or clutch release bearing, not sure which applies to me.

The noise is made when;
- The car is turnt on, gear in neutra
