Diesel particle filter
ok so after getting car back think the calliper wasnt just the issue, been reading abit of on-line stuff and found some information about it the DPF.

Now after so many miles some light should come on the dash to show you the car is going through a regen.
Now I have done over 20,000 miles since having my car and I have never seen this light on.

Should I be asking vauxhall why??

Does this DPF ever need changing?

fuel filter, too much diesel came out
I filled the car up with diesel and drove to my friends house to do the oil change. After that we attempted the fuel filter by turning the drain screw. However, the diesel just kept on coming out and at just over 2 litres was lost we tightened it back up in the hope some knows why it didn't stop?
I was of the understanding that just the fuel out of the filter housing would come out.
Can anyone please help?

How to change fuel filter (diesel cars)
This is the 'How to' guide showing you how to change your diesel fuel filter. My 'J' Astra is the 2010 1.7cdti and as far as I know, the filter is the same size and location for the 1.3, 1.7 and 2.0 models.

Firstly, always buy a branded filter such as Fram or Mann. I bought the Mann filter from Euro car parts which included two new seals which you will need and it cost me £18.30.

Job time - Estimated 30-45 mins

You will need the following tools:

Jack (I used my trolley jack and axle stands

Air filter K&N
So my air filter arrived today, I took my factory one out and tried to fit the new one... For some reason the new one is more rectangular than the factory one which is totally square... So it wouldn't fit! Have they sent me the wrong one?

Oil and Oil filter replacement
Simple and quick job to do but may seem a little daunting if you have never done it before.

tools Required: Ratchet, 24mm socket and a T45 male torque socket, Container to drain the old oil into. A small flat screwdriver.
Access to axle stands and a jack would be needed also.

[align=center]This was done on my 1.6T GTC however the process is the same but the location of the sump plug and oil filter may differ slightly.Order

Pipercross VS K&N panel filter (Astra GTC 1.6T)
Hey guys!

Recently picked up a 2013 GTC (1.6 Turbo 180ps) and I am currently looking into smaller tuning options, at least for now anyways.

After looking at cone filters, I've pretty much ruled them out due to the limited amount of kits out there, the price of the kits available, the effort of making one myself and heatsoak issues.

So back to the question, as far as I know the Pipercross is about £15 cheaper and is a dry filter, vs the K&N which I believe is oiled.

So all I really
