I bought an Astra J 3 months ago and I was trying to locate vin number punched to the chassis. The Chassis number was covered in surface rust and I could see some numbers so I tried to remove rust with some sand paper and rust remover. Now I cannot see the numbers at all . Is there any product I can use to make the number reappear?

Hi I have a Astra J Elite 63 plate, I turn off traction control and can rev to maximum in neutral, but if I put it in first gear, it only lets me rev to 3000rpm maximum, and if I turn off ESP as well, it only lets me rev to a maximum of 2500rpm. Does anyone know how to change this so I can have TC/ESP off and rev to max rpm? Thanks

Picking up a 2013 2.0 CDTi Astra Elite on the weekend.

I am also planning on purchasing a set of 18" rims (GM# 13269540)
These are 225/40/R18

I want to drop the car a bit but not to a point that will ruin the ride. I live in the Cotswolds and the roads are bumpy as round here with a number of potholes.
Was thinking 30mm max.

Any suggestions on the rim and spring suggestion?

In the last two days, i was wondering if its any solution to retrofit the cluster and the steering wheel from astra k. 
In the picture the cluster connection its the same..but it will work ?

Hi Mods so far.


1/Dab and Bluetooth upgrade.      Radio and parts supplied by Rusty, found it very easy to fit with the info supplied.
2/Sat Nav to A pillar.                   Fitted a brodit proclip mount part number 604438 and a garmin tilt/swivel mount brodit 215547 not cheap but well worth the money.
3/DPF Regen Light.                     fitted a red LED to the drivers door will find out how well it works later.

I need of an astra j Drl bulb holder possible or a complete broken headlight. see photo

2013 Astra J SRI 1.7 diesel 130BHP   80K on clock
Engine noise when clutch 1/4 pressed & 1/4 released.
If car in neutral & clutch pressed 1/4 way down the noise is loudest,
Could it be DMF & if so what the cost approx of fitting?

Car running fine otherwise

How do you check the following before going to garage...

Noise from clutch when pressed

1  Faulty clutch release cylinder?
