Having a break.
I would just like to let all members know I am going to be taking a break for a bit due to some personal issue's which I don't want to go into at this time.

This may mean there is a delay in processing threads / posts that fall into the moderation que.

This will also result in a delay in a response to any PM's that are sent me.

I'd like thank-you for your understanding at this time.

Rusty.

Remote boot popping on a meriva (non canbus boot release i believe)
I want to make my boot open remotely when i am approaching it with bags of shopping in my hands... the car is a 2011 meriva B....

Going to try the springs on the struts, my struts are pretty weak so time for new ones, so also going to get uprated pressure struts... actually gonna get adjustable pressure struts... they start with 70 newtons of lifting power... and a bolt can be opened to release some of the nitrogen pressure if they are too powerful to close the boot lid)

What's the best dongle for a V5754 android head unit?
Got my V5754 coming tomorrow and want to have internet available in the car to fully use it's capabilities. I don't really want to use my phone as a hotspot and would prefer to have a dedicated internet connection that would always be available in the car when needed, so I guess I'm looking at a wifi dongle/mifi unit etc.

Any advice on what works best?

Cheers

Tech2-ing to a part without rest of car.. possible?
My trailer interface module is playing up a little, some times it detects the plug insterted and will do the bulb out warning on the dash, sometimes it dosent detect the plug is insterted,

i've 100% checked the switch in the socket is working, zero ohms when the plug is in, perfect connection when it's out (so the switch is open when plug is inserted)

i can't talk to the TIM with the tech 2 as it says hardware mismatch or no software available... this is because my chassis number isnt on

Illuminated gear knob for a tenner
[attachment=985]

I have been changing all my car's led's in switches etc over to blue and green,  and wanted a light up gear knob.. but the ones available don't seem to be the current type of knob, and they cost a fortune.

Someone mentioned on here a while back about removing the plastic cover from the gear knob, and putting a coloured sticker over the chrome square that is under it, changing the colour the gear's and shift pattern shows up.

This got me thinking of a way to make it ill

What are the specs for the wheel studs on a 2010 Insignia Sports Tourer?
Hello!

Short story, I need to know the diameter and thread pitch of a 2010 Insignia Sports Tourer wheel studs.

Long story: I switched to my summer tires (or tyres?) around 3 weeks ago. Yesterday I noticed that one of my lug nuts is missing and, more worryingly, all my lug nuts were loose.

After tightening them, I went to the stealership to buy a new lug nut but the one they gave me, after checking my VIN, does not fit. It threads on the stud just fine but the outside of the nut is too b

A step by step with pictures would help me and everyone who's interested in this!
My car is a Astra 1.4 petrol and i already have the better speedometer for the same model as mine!
So anyone that could help adding information to solve and enlighten us all would be amazing!!
