The battery on my 2011 2.0 cdti J needs changing so picked one up from ecp, everywhere I have checked have said it's a 100 type battery it needs, but the one from ECP is too short and doesn't fit in the tray fully. Looking at the dimensions online it is 278x17x17cm, but the one in the car at the minute is 310x17x17cm and has a 108 printed on the top. Always felt my GTC 6spd box was a bit notchy 1st-2nd, well yesterday it finally became a more serious issue and now the car will not hold in 2nd under any load it just wants to jump back into neutral so nursed it home doing 1st - 3rd changes and dumped it on the drive.

So I'm thinking of getting rid of my 2012 2.0 Cdti Sri vx line and going for an auto version of the same car mainly due the daily grid of stop start traffic on the highway.

I looking at the Elite version over the Sri version mainly due to spec.

Things I like about the elite version are:-
Leather seats
Heated seats
Climate control (had this in my Civic, miss it alot.

Things I will miss are:-
Vx line 19 alloys
Sportier ride compared to elite.
Vx line kit.

For some reason, that I don´t understand, my GTC was from factory not ordered with factory LED rear lamps despite having front LED DRL and AFL light.
I had to rectify that mistake. Price from dealer was 850£ + 70£ wiring. I managed to get it all for 450£ with wiring as my workplace imports Valeo parts from France.

I also bought HappyBlue OBD module so I can make rearlights and numberplate light not to be shown with bulb warnings in the display. With HappyBlue module you can also alter alot

As above I have just got an ice white astra which i upgraded from a 1.4 08 astra and I'm in love however I'm just wondering am I stuck in terms of upgrading the speed of this car due to it being a 63 plate and being s/s? I mean I'm in no hurry due to only just getting the car im just wondering what my options will be when the time comes. Am I stuck to just a pedal box or are there any alternatives?

So when my car had Turbo issue's the dealership did a software update to the ECU.

This update is related to the DPF

it's a software weakness that only effects astra j, cascada and zafira tourers up to model year MY13.5. The update will just adjust the software weakness that is present.

Not long had my Astra j elite 2.0 ecoflex as I had a 1.6tdci fiesta before.

What mpg are people getting?

I'm currently driving like a granny. Have never driven so sensible in my life yet only getting 34mpg on a 20mile to work and 20 mile back from work journey. Mostly all long straight roads not stop start.

A full tank says I'll get 450 but have already done a quarter tank and only done 80 or so.

It's been a couple weeks since I got my Astra and it's time to start a (rather plain probably) progress thread.
