water ingress
there were early reported problems on the early model astra j
with water getting in to the front footwell
water would make its way along the wiper arms
and drip in to the pollen filter
this was fixed by placing a zip tie
on the wiper arm to divert the flow of water
so if you have had any problems with water in the front foot well post it here

also water in the rear boot problems
post your problems here..

water loss
I am loosing coolant about 250ml every 2 months. As the car was in for a recall re the coolant fan overheating problems which they phoned just before Christmas about I asked if it could have anything to do with my problem of the water loss.
I was told that the radiator fan on some 1.4 T Astra’s were overheating and the cure was to remove the battery cover. At that point I burst out laughing. The battery cover is nowhere near the radiator let alone the fan, so how will the removal of the cover

Water Noise Sloshing
Hi All,

Sigh! I thought I'd seen the end of the sloshing problems in my car but now I have a new one :(

I can hear what sounds like A LOT of water sloshing around in the boot area whenever I accelerate, break or turn. I used to hear this noise when I first got my car and it was the fuel in the tank because my tank didn't have baffles. Vauxhall eventually fitted some baffles and that was the end of that, never heard anything since then until today!

Got in my car for the first time in a f

water in rear
Not sure how you start a new topic so sorry in advance. Been hoovering out all the white dog hairs in the back of my car (previous owner) and I've found a damp patch under the back seats. Wondering what it could be?

Here's the wet area

Water Plugs
Hi guys and gals,

Does anyone else have two weird little grommet things under the very bottom of each door frame that are used to sort of let water out of the door when it gets in? My car has them but they always get clogged and stop water getting out which then builds up in the door!

I rang vx to ask for some new ones as mine obviously ain't working but he said they don't sell them and all the cars he had in the dealership didn't even have them bit had a blank hole there instead... Taken mi

Footwell full of water
A couple of weeks ago I noticed some water in my boot. Through removing all the carpets, seats and linings over the last couple of weeks, to find where the leak was coming from and to dry all the foam etc out (whilst also going insane), I have narrowed the leak to coming in behind the grey foam underneath the dashboard. I have had the glove box off and the pollen filter out, and checked the scuttle drains under the wipers which were clear but can not find where exactly the water is coming from.

Water ingress in boot
Hi everyone.
For 2 1/2 years I've had water entering into the car through the interior trim of the tailgate. Not sure how this is getting in but it's evident after it has rained heavily.
The water seems to gather inside the tailgate structure and then enters the car through both of the two pop out plastic grey covers behind the tailgate lights. It's also come through the tailgate locking mechanism. The three drain holes are clear.
I notice it when the tailgate is opened fully and then the w

Water inside car
Has anyone had problems with water getting inside the car, the footwells, boot, etc, and solved it.

I had a soaking wet foam thing under the spare wheel in the boot (see photo) a week ago. No water anywhere else just in the boot.

I took it out a week ago and put it on the radiator for a day, then put it back under the spare wheel. When I checked today the foam is starting to get wet again from the centre
