Towbar fitting/electrics
Has anyone ever diy fitted a towbar to there J. I need one for my sports tourer to pull my trailer. Just looking into it I want a removable Swan neck but there's two types of electrics dedicated and universal. Im just wondering if I buy dedicated does it just plug into the car. Does anything need activating in the ecu after fitting. I'm not worried about the spannering just don't wanna be chopping wires in my nice shiny astra

Factory Fitted Towbar
My J has the factory fitted removable towbar, I'm pretty sure it was done as new as when the trailer has a light out it displays on the dash.

But I get no audio/visual warning when my trailer is connected and indicators on, a blessing yes as the buzzer is annoying, but as a legal requirement I thought it should have some form of indication.

Any suggestions on whether I should have an extra buzzer/light and why it aint working?

Cheers

Towbar Wiring
Hi All

Im just in process of fitting a Towbar (non Vauxhall) to Astra J Hatch 2013 and could do with some advice on the wiring. I have a bypass relay to avoid problems with cars electrics which states it needs a permanent live feed that is not feeding anything else. Is there a connection in the boot area I can use to avoid dragging everything back to front of the care that is suitable?

I believe there maybe a socket in the rear just for a trailer so could that be used and if so where is it
