Speaker help needed
tucpal fitted a new centre dash speaker (the one where the alarm is) about a month ago, it was all perfect until yesterday it started vibrating and distorting. I thought it might be loose to retightened it but it's still happening.

I took the speaker out and held it, it still happens. It's when there is any Base to the speaker, when it moves up and down, hopefully u can hear it on the video below!

Please help

Blown Speaker
I was out in the car on Saturday now I don't like load music blaring when I'm driving I like the sound of the engine. I can't remember what song came on but it had heavy base the volume was at 12 like it normally is and it just sounded terrible safe to assume the factory ones are just crap.

Is it worth upgrading all the speakers? any recommendations?

I had a look on eBay and it had one set but they where like £250 no chance I'm paying that for speakers.

if you were having 4 door speakers and a subwoofer  on an amp would you either not use the centre dash speaker or use it un amped?

Speaker upgrades
i'm looking to gather some bits to upgrade the sounds in my 5 door.

I've read the how too;s but have a few questions

i will be keeping the standard CD400 head unit and use a rca converter to install my sub and amp in the boot but at the same time i will probably look to put some component speakers in the front doors.

Does anyone know the power output of the CD400? i'm guessing about 35-40rms?

i already have the standard tweeters in my dash, but do these have a crossover? if so i will

Speaker wire gauge
Wondering if anybody knows the wire gauge going to the door speakers. I'm assumings it's equivalent among astra/insignia since basically the whole cd400/dvd800 seems identical. If it's 20awg or thicker I suppose there's very little point in running new wires from the amp vs extending them from behind the headunit and then to the amp.
