Piston help
#1
Sorry if I'm in the wrong section I'm new and come in need of help. I have a 2013 Astra 1.7 Cdti ecoflex sports tourer in need of a new piston. After getting in touch with vauxhall the part is on back order and they can't give me any sort of date for delivery. There is an alternative available from KOLBENSCHMIDT but I'm not sure if this will be okay ? Has anyone here had the same problem or used a replacement piston ? Any help would be greatly appreciated as I'm really stuck.

perhaps you could get a secondhand piston from ebay etc

There is no real issue using one replacement piston, most modern engines are quite well balanced
